Sheet metal posts for overhead power lines are made IN COMPLIANCE WITH STANDARD UNE 207018, former EA 0020:2003, with a truncated cone shape and octagonal section in carbon steel sheet of a minimum standard S 355 JR or higher, in accordance with Standards UNE EN 10025 and 10492, undergoing hot-dip galvanising in zinc smelted in compliance with Standard UNE EN ISO 1461 at our own galvanising plant, therefore ensuring a minimum coating layer of 65 microns, both inside and outside, to ensure protection against corrosion being.

The measurements of these elements vary significantly regarding thickness, diameters at top and base, height and conicity depending on the height and stresses required.

Standard posts are 9 and 11 m high, reaching heights of 13, 15 and even 17 m, in two parts assembled by direct coupling or embedding, always starting from a 9 m post and its corresponding extension. Posts with anchor plate are supplied with anchor bolts and templates.

Along the length of the sheet metal post shaft there are drill holes for mounting cross-bars, fittings, lifelines, climbing rungs and accessories, so that maintenance tasks can be performed easily and safely.

Grounding is done by a corner profile welded to one face of the post, by drilling to fix the ground terminal.

1) The V load is applied on the vertical axis, the support on the peak. 2) The F or L loads are applied horizontally 250 mm beneath the peak. The W load resulting from the pressure exercised by the wind on the post should be added to the F or L test load. 3) The T load is applied 250 mm beneath the peak and at a distance from the post axis.
