Since the end of 2012 we have a modern automated thermo-lacquering powder paint installation with which we are in a position to offer any type of paint coat (polyester, polyurethane, polyamides, etc.) on iron or steel materials, whether galvanised like in black steel, with or without primer, providing our clients with the best quality in the market.
At our paint installation we can lacquer pieces measuring 12 m long, 2m high, and 0.8m wide, as well as weights up to 900 kg.
It is an automated, environmentally-friendly process, which avoids using volatile solvents, committed to improving the paint coat finish quality.
In this way, human action on the process is minimised, being exclusively limited to the adjustment of the digital-analogical controls and the maintenance of the premises, the drying not depending on atmospheric conditions.
Only in the case of large-format parts do we continue with the liquid aerographic process, thus still maintaining all the painting process quality parameters constant.
The stages of the thermo lacquering process at our automatic installation are the following:
1. Hanging.
2. Degreasing.
3. Washing.
4. Drying and heating.
5. Painting.
6. Polymerising.
7. Cooling.
With this installation we are in a position to apply on the products a duplex system (galvanising+painting), comprising hot-dip galvanising in accordance with Standard UNE EN ISO 1461:2009, and the thermo-lacquering coating, with which a longer duration of the useful life of the product is achieved than what would be provided by adding the durability of the two processes separately. This combination increases protection between 25 and 250% in accordance with this formula:
DT = K (DZN + DP)
Where:
DT = Total duration of the duplex system.
DZN = Duration of the galvanised coating .
DP = Estimated duration of the paint coating .
K = Coefficient depending on the environment and paint system :
- Rural environments: K= 2.0 – 2.5
- Polluted environments: K= 1.5 – 2.00
- Seawater: K= 1.2 – 1.5
